The MoEF has put up the NEP draft policy for comment till 31st December, 2004. This debate hopes to stimulate discussion, a summary of which will be sent back to the MoEF for inclusion in the revised version of the draft.

While sunlight is available abundantly, it is not enough to light up interiors during the day and of course in the night. Historically, oil lamps were used for lighting, until the incandescent lamp and electricity became easily available.
